Happy Halloween!
- October 31, 2011
The Cat in the Hat, a bumble bee (finally), a witch
and Super Man - look out Halloween here we come!
Some pictures outside as we venture out...
The boys and our neighbour friend - also Bumble Bee (but the transforming
kind).
Milo takes stock of all the Smarties and Kaden displays his loot!
Milo stuffed his face as fast and as long as he could. When we was finally
cut off he was less than impressed...."I neeeeeeeed more candy!!!"...

Parties and Pumpkins
- October 29, 2011
Today we helped Braydon celebrate his fourth
birthday.
On the way home we stopped at a pumpkin patch to pick our our perfect
pumpkins.
Then it was time to scoop the goop and carve the jack-o-lanterns. This year
Kaden drew his own jack-o-lantern face - nice work!

Friday Fun
- October 28, 2011
Milo got the "pleasure" of joining me on a trip to
the mechanic. We managed to tag-team the appointment with a trip to the doctor,
but we still had to spend more time than expected at the dealership. Sadly, the
only way to keep Milo from going totally stir-crazy as we waited to pay and get
the car he found the dirtiest
Milo doesn't go to school on Fridays, but he was invited to join in his class
Halloween party. We're still trying to sort out the costume fiasco (Cat in the
Hat costume returned, Wolf costume apparently scary and Bee costume tolerable,
but possibly too hot for inside) so I figured his train engineer's costume was a
safe bet. Mom - 1 : Milo's Halloween Costume Dilema : 0 (or at least temporarily
sidelined)!
Tonight the boys got to decorate and eat their Halloween cookie creations!

The complete uniform
- October 25, 2011
We finally got all the pieces to Kaden's uniform.
Here he models what he wears Monday to Friday. There is a long sleeved sweater
as well, but we'll save that for winter.

Milo's first fieldtrip
- October 24, 2011
Today I got to join Milo's class on their first
fieldtrip. It was a cold, wet day, but getting to ride the school bus made it
all worthwhile.

Painting Pros
- October 22, 2011
We're finally painting our ensuite bathroom. As soon
as the boys caught wind of our painting project they of course wanted to help.
We let flex their painting skills in the closet :]

Bookwork
- October 13, 2011
We found Kaden's first edition of the Chickadee
magazine in the mailbox when we came home today. He couldn't even get through
the front door before he started to read it!

Thanksgiving Weekend Fun Continues
- October 10, 2011
The weather this weekend has been fantastic. Too
nice to stay indoors. We can't stray too far from the house when we have both
boys on their bikes, as Milo is quick to change his mind about riding, but today
we thought it would be fun to try a family bike ride. Instead of strapping both
boys into the bike trailer we remembered we still had the solo-seat for the back
of one of bikes and Milo is still light enough to ride in it. It was fun to ride
together to the park where we had lots of fun digging in the sand. Then it was
back (uphill) towards home. Kaden worked his little legs as hard as he could and
did a great job making the return trip.
We made a "thankful tree" for the things we are thankful for this
Thanksgiving weekend. If you can see the writing on the hands you'll notice that
one of the hands has chicken written on it. Apparently, Mr. I'm the
Most Fussy Eater on the Planet and Would Never Think of Eating Chicken (aka
Milo) is thankful for chicken!

Sunny Thanksgiving Saturday
- October 8, 2011
Today we were joined by Grandma and Grandpa to go
apple picking. The weather couldn't have been better. We went to Chudleigh's
farm, in Milton to get the whole apple picking package - slides, tractors, wagon
ride, hay maze and, of course, apple picking. The boys both chomped while they
filed out bags FULL of yummy, fresh apples.
That night we brought our newly picked apples (as apple crisp) to Gran and
Grandee's for Thanksgiving dinner. The boys were given permission to dig
(carefully) in a small area of Gran's garden. They have done this before, but I
guess the soil was wetter than last time or had some moist soil addition,
because they didn't get muddy the last time this happened. They were as happy as
pigs and just about as dirty. When the fun was done they were stripped down to
their underwear for dinner - a new twist on Thanksgiving dinner attire! While
their clothes were being laundered the cousins took in some TV viewing. Too
cute.

- October 6 & 7, 2011
A cute picture of Milo in the front yard and a quick
picture of how quickly the boys figured out the backyard is like their own
personal quarry!

Running, walking and trying to stay dry for the
Cure!
- October 2, 2011
Today we participated in the second annual
Mississauga Run for the Cure. Auntie Gail joined us again this year as did
Grandpa. The boys really wanted to participate under their own steam, but when
the cop car was pulling up behind us to try to re-open the streets and the rain
started falling I managed to talk them both into the stroller for a snack. We
logged a few kilometers before releasing the boys to bring it home. Milo really
enjoyed following the yellow paint line, but would stop every 10 feet or say and
say, "STOP!". He provided some cute entertainment for the other participants.
Kaden got the special privilege of climging into a police car to sound the horn
and siren (for encouragement of course). Afterwards we treated ourselves to a
well deserved brunch. Another successful event. Thanks to all of our supporters
- we raised almost $600!
Despite Kaden's wobbly start at skating this fall, he was quickly "advanced"
to preschool skating. Now Daddy gets to watch from the bleachers. Kaden is keen
on trying hockey, but we've agreed that we should work on skating this year and
wait to try hockey next season.

Mitts already!
- October 1, 2011
We didn't get very far from the driveway before
Kaden complained of cold hands. Hard to believe we have mittens on today when
yesterday he was out in only his hoodie.
Milo's legs are finally long enough!
This picture was actually taken yesterday (September 30th)...but here Kaden
models his athletic uniform. This is his Friday attire.
