Our little man is growing and changing so fast. He's already managed to outwit us at such an early age! We keep pestering him to do tummy-time to build upper body strength in preparation for crawling, but he surprised us one day by launching his head to the side and convincing his whole body to follow! No more tummy-time for him (unless it's on his terms)! Anyway, by the time we got the camera he was less than amused to have us continually putting him back on his tummy to show us the new 'trick'! The first video is the least unhappy...but the other two show you how he was really feeling.

July 24, 2007 - A trip to Granville Island was in order
for a birthday lunch celebration and to pick up some steaks for dinner. Yum!
Somebody pointed out that it didn't seem like Kaden was
smiling much in July...we may not always catch it on camera, but here you can
see Kaden whooping it up with Nanna during her rendition of Le Clown Samuel.
Kaden shows his appreciation with his patented leg-hug! **As an aside, we
recently discovered that Kaden is teething! One of his lower front teeth is
already starting to push through and we can see the neighbouring tooth is not
far behind...I wouldn't smile much either if my gums were splitting!**
Back on the patio for some appies and pressies.

Finally, bath time is getting more enjoyable - thanks to
the wonderful world of distraction. As a parent you learn this trick early
(although maybe not early enough with us when it came to getting in the bath).

July 22, 2007 - A weekend just wouldn't be a weekend if we
didn't try to make it out somewhere for brunch.
It seems to be our way to put the grandparents to work
(remember Grandpa helping with the sanding and staining of the patio furniture
in April)?! Thanks for putting up the fans, Poppa...and not a moment too soon,
the sun is back!

July 19, 2007 - Kaden continues to enjoy holding on to all
his belongings. He's got quite the grip and is already starting to practice being
double-fisted!

July 18, 2007 - It's hard to believe our little man is
already 4months old! Nanna and Poppa have arrived for a visit and we spend some
time enjoying the sun on our patio. We took Kaden in for his 4 month check-up
and vaccinations and found out that he's a whopping 17lbs and stretches over
26inches!!!
Like father like son. Check out that furrowed brow!
July 17, 2007 - Dad gives Kaden his first guitar lesson?!?
July 13-16, 2007 - The Calverts head over to Vancouver Island for our cousin's wedding. Although we did a number on Kaden's sleep schedule, he was a real charmer for friends and family (apparently they also think his chirping is cute...I bet Kaden wishes we took him more seriously)!. It was Kaden's first time on the ferry and traveling away from home. He got to see his Nanna and Poppa as well as his GG. He also got to meet the rest of the Hunt clan.

July 16, 2007 - Back after a weekend away, we took it easy
out on the patio.
July 13, 2007 - Kaden bends his mind to play with his
squishy.
July 12, 2007 - Bath time is still not high on our "like"
list.

July 12, 2007 - Vancouver has been suffering a heat wave
and Kaden is just trying not to melt. It's hard work.
Despite the heat, Kaden is
still keeping up with his crunches and kicks. His latest trick is the ol' leg
hug!
July 10, 2007 - Kaden and mom join their friends, Laura,
Andrew and Kate, for Kaden's first trip to the pool. Despite a few showings of
his lower lip, Kaden did great! Unlike on dry land, Kaden preferred tummy-time
as opposed to floating on his back.
July 08, 2007 - Hans, Carloline and the twins (Amber and
Arthur) come over for a bbq to enjoy the summer sun on the patio.
Arthur tries to teach Kaden about farm animals...I
think the dog pushed him over the edge!

July 05, 2007 - Uncle Chris is in town! We took some time
to enjoy the sun at Deer Lake Park (maybe it should be called Goose Lake?)

July 04, 2007 - Kaden and mom out for a walk to the store
in the heat. You'll notice that Kaden likes to hold on to all his belongings. It

July 02, 2007 - What beautiful weather we had this
weekend. We had brunch with friends on our patio and dinner with friends on
their deck. Kaden even got to test out a new gizmo...a baby swing.
With the great weather to lift his spirits we pushed on in
the adventure we like to call "tummy time"...it wasn't so bad this time...for
a while!
July 01, 2007 - Canada-Day celebrations! We took
Kaden out for his longest outting yet - an awesome patio brunch and a day at the
beach with friends.
