Back to the slopes!
- January 25, 2011
Finally, the weather has warmed up again and we can go outside to play in all
that snow! We were joined by our buds for an outing to the toboggan hill and the
park (where my camera batteries proceeded to run out)!

Happy Birthday, Grandee!
- January 22, 2011
Gran and Grandee were over for dinner tonight.
Before it was served everyone got in some good playing time.

Ho do I get out of this car?!
- January 20, 2011
I took both boys to get their hair cut today. I have
given Milo a very small trim at home, but figured it was time for the
professionals to have their turn. He looks like such a little man now with his
neatly trimmed hair, but he was unhappy about the process. Poor little guy
thought he was just going to have a ride in McQueen, but not long after a
stranger with scissors approached and he was no longer pleased with the
situation!

More Milo
- January 18, 2011
Milo has discovered the bee costume and has asked us
several times to help get him into it. He's also really enjoying drawing these
days...apparently on himself too!

Under and In!
- January 17, 2011
I found Milo in a strange place today eating his
snack. He seemed pretty content. And later he managed to squeeze himself into a
wee basket. What a kook!

Happy Birthday, Nanny!
- January 15, 2011
Before our guests could get in the drive we had to
head out to shovel again this morning. Yes Mother Nature, we understand, winter!
Milo actually seems pleased with himself and the fluffy white stuff for a
change! He even got to try "warm cochlat" from his big boy M mug.
We had a fun night helping Nanny celebrate her special day.

Better Access
- January 14, 2011
Milo figures he can reach his trains better from on
top of the table! This is where he can usually be found perched and playing. The
photos are a bit grainy, but the boys were playing so nicely together that I was
keeping my distance so as not to distract them!

Milo the Builder
- January 12, 2011
Milo never really got into the stacking blocks like
his big brother, but he is really loving lego. He's very adept at building a
tall tower on his own. He even claps for his own successes!
Milo continues to trick me.
Whenever I get the camera out to try to capture something he's doing or
something he's saying he changes gears.
This is not at all what I was trying to film, but it's pretty darn cute
regardless...except for maybe the end (for him anyways)!
Our little maestro is still battling the strap on his guitar (towel isn't
cutting it anymore), but he's figured out how to sit and sing!
A little free-form acoustics for your listening pleasure!

A quick pic taken from my phone at a play-gym this
morning. Cutester.

Kaden takes to the ice
- January 9, 2011
Kaden and Daddy laced up to go to Kaden's first skating lesson. He loved it.
Craig said he did really well for his first time. He was shuffling
around like an old pro! He came home excited about his new adventure already
talking about next week's lesson.
A few snippets from the first lesson.

Toboggans Ho!
- January 8, 2011
Okay...we get it now...winter.
Kaden woke up this morning thinking the Science Centre would be a fun place
to go. Fun if we didn't have to drive! Fortunately it wasn't too hard to
convince him that tobogganing would also be fun! SO much snow was on the ground
and it just kept coming. We hit the "slopes" for a few runs, but the lure of the
park outweighed any more desire to lug a sled up a hill. Turns out that plastic
twisty slides are exponentially faster with snowpants! After everyone's cheeks
were sufficiently red we went back home for more warm-chocolate!
Kaden loves to flop, roll, swim and play in the snow. He's a
little dare-devil too going downhill face first!
Milo is still warming up to winter...

Hello Winter!
- January 7, 2011
Mother Nature is apparently starting to take winter a little more seriously.
Kaden worked hard to clear a good portion of our sidewalk in order to make
himself a snow fort (aka pile) to flop in. He loves the snow. He didn't even
mind when Milo fell down and gave him a face-wash...he started giving himself
his own face-washes afterwards. Kaden is also a huge fan of eating snow. We're
still working with him to limit his consumption to fresh, new snow (not sidewalk
or shoveled or trampled snow)! Milo can still be a bit grumbly, but the more we
go outside the more fun he seems to have. It's hard when your hands don't work
(his thumbs don't fit in the mitten slot very well)! Afterwards we made hot
chocolate (or rather warm chocolate) for the first time. Combined the boys make
a great hot chocolate drinking pair - Milo likes the marshmallows and Kaden
likes the drink!

Back to reality...and Balls of Fun
- January 4, 2011
School has started, Daddy's back at work and we're back in our weekly
routine. Today's playdate took us back to Balls of Fun. Of particular fun today
was a gigantic ball that the kids could go inside to roll around!
It's the end of their run, but the boys were playing so well
together going up and down the slide again and again.

What's cooking, Milo?
- January 3, 2011
Milo has expanded his cupboard repertoire from tupperware containers to
frying pans. Surprisingly he managed to squish himself inside.
Fun with frying pans!

Let's Bowl!
- January 2, 2011
As Daddy's mega-stay-cation winds down (sniff, sniff) we took the
opportunity today to cross another activity off the list that we had in the
queue. Fun times at the bowl-a-rama! Craig mocked my bowling style, but if you
take a look at the final score board you can see who took home the trophy (K =
Kaden, 1st M = Milo, 2nd M = Mommy, D = Daddy)!
Armed with his new fire fighter's hat and jacket, his jet pack and scabbard -
Captain Calvert ran around fighting fires wherever they were made!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
- January 1, 2011
I don't think Milo was dipping into the sauce last night, but he donned
Daddy's party hat this morning and had a ball blindly running amok! I'm not sure
why the hat works best when the eyes are covered...
In an attempt to get Milo to wish everyone a Happy New Year I
managed to enrage "the beast"!
When things don't go your way Milo recommends feet stamping and loud shrieking
