Can you think of a better place to play?! - April 30, 2010
Milo seems to love the front hall closet. The dark obviously doesn't bother him as he happily closes the door once he's inside! He discovered this little fort all on his own. One day I came out of the kitchen looking for him and couldn't find him until I heard the closet door sliding open! Fortunately he's pretty aware of his extremities and has managed to only pinch his fingers a couple times!

Funny little man ;]

Craft time - April 27, 2010
Milo has his first encounter with crayons while Kaden whips up a picture for Grandee. Milo gets little to no crayon on the page, but has fun putting crayons in the box and in his mouth!

After letting the creative juices flow we head down to the park for some more fun in the sun! Honestly, you think it would be easier to get a good shot of my two boys. In the first shot Kaden is trying to snap his fingers to get Milo's attention...although it's not Milo who's looking elsewhere! By the time they're both looking at me Milo is pleading with his eyes to be done! Hysterical. There are lots of good places to climb and cruise at this park.

Ali - April 27, 2010
For those of you that don't know, we no longer have Ali. The abbreviated story is that she injured her leg in January. Despite our best efforts to help her heal, in the end she needed surgery. Neither the surgery itself nor the extensive recovery were something we were able to do for her. As hard as it was, we made the best decision possible for Ali and flew her back to BC to go home to the breeder who will give Ali the surgery she needs and give her the best care possible to heal for a long and healthy life. We were very sad to let her go.

A typical Monday - April 26, 2010
After taking Kaden to nursery school on Monday I take Milo to music class. He loves hearing the guitar and playing with all Miss Mandi's clothes, instruments and other accessories. He doesn't often sit still for long, but he happily cruises/crawls around me or the classroom and participates as only a baby can.

Milo's sounds, signs and words continue to develop. It's sometimes hard to catch them on film,
but here's a small sampling of his latest "tricks" (in particular his animal sounds - the road kills me)!

While we wait for Daddy to come home after dinner and before bath we've been taking to the front to play with all our wheeled toys. Milo is getting more adept at walking and Kaden continues to play his favourite game (although it's altered slightly for the circumstances - bash Milo as opposed to squash Milo)!

Buddies - April 25, 2010
Milo loves Ali - she's good for support and smiles!

Don't turn your back for a second... - April 24, 2010
Milo + Keenex box + Mommy cooking in the kitchen  = Fun Times!!!

Happy Earth Day! - April 22, 2010
We didn't do much this year to celebrate (or restore) our mother earth, but we did get outside to enjoy all she has to offer at the park!

Daddy, is that you??? - April 20, 2010
Are there really any words for this kind of cuteness...

It's a beautiful day in the neighbourhood - April 13, 2010
The boys and I head out for a morning stroll/trike. Kaden got back on his bike with no troubles and could probably reach the pedals a little better now. After lunch Milo and I head out back to check out his set of wheels!

If you whistle while you work why not sing while you ride!?!

Backyard Set-up - part one - April 11, 2010
We have lots to do in our yards. While my intention is to eventually set up a separate page on Cremma with before and after pictures of our house transformation I thought I would give you a little sneak peak at the kinds of things we have to contend with. Outside - vines. Before they start sprouting and taking a hold of the brick for another season Craig makes his first pass at removing as many of the vines as he can. To keep ourselves occupied the boys and I get crabby filled with sand. Fun!

ROAD TRIP! - April 2 - 10, 2010
We're off to Ottawa for Easter and then the boys and I will stay and visit for the week while Craig head's back to work (in the office and around the house!). The trip down was pretty good. Milo was obviously tired enough to fall asleep before finishing his snack shortly after getting on the road! The kids tolerated a particularly long slow down this side of Trenton. It was made up for by stopping at the "Old MacDonald's" for lunch, which just so happened to be right outside of an active rail line. The day was BEAUTIFUL. We did not pack for this weather. We're well on the road with toilet training with Kaden, but he donned a pull-up for the long car ride just in case. Of course he said he had to go when there was nary a stop in sight, so he got his first taste of peeing in the bush (although I think he got a little stage fright). No matter, our little champ had his first success in a public washroom when we stopped for lunch. The snoozed the final leg into Ottawa and were happy to arrive at Nanna and Poppa's.

April 3 - We took the boys to the park near Nanna and Poppa's in the morning. Milo still isn't sure about "nature" in general. He loves playing at parks - from a safe height - but was less than sure about what to do when plopped in the sand. Feeling well acquainted with the sand, Kaden quickly took the reigns at the digger to scoop and dump. Still a classic. He took Nanna for a ride on the bus and then practiced his best monkey impression by hanging from the monkey bars. He held on remarkably long and then dropped to the ground on his own. Boys just get more and more daring as they grow, don't they....

No time like the present to help Milo feel at home in the sand!

Our biggest monkey in action.

April 4 - Another lovely spring day. Craig and I borrowed sandals from my folks and we walked in t-shirts to go get ice cream! Delish.

April 5 - HOPPY EASTER!!! The kids woke to find the Easter Bunny had visited Nanna and Poppa's and left them little surprises all around the house. Milo helped a little, but Kaden did a pretty good job of distributing what he found into each basket.

Later that morning we head up to Gatineau Park to meet Shannon and her family for their annual Easter hike. It was a lot of fun (and a gorgeous day) for a walk through the woods and a picnic lunch. Kaden really liked playing with Darcy and they even got a turn "at the wheel" of Trevor's convertible!

I tried to take the kid's yearly bunny ear picture. Yeesh...Milo was a tough sell. Even with distraction and two people these were the best I could do. Kaden tolerated my request and pulled it off in one take!

April 6 - Daddy flew back to Toronto Sunday evening; just in time for Kaden to wake in the night with a sore throat and fever! Despite Poppa's moratorium on grandkids with germs we took a chance and decided to stay (in hindsight this may not have been the best decision as Milo got sick later in the week and I got it just in time to drive the three of us home...followed by Poppa who got sick after we left...sorry!). Nanna and I took the kids to the Museum of Science and Technology. Both boys had a really good time. Kaden refers to the museum as the "train museum". Any wonder? I thought it fitting that I managed to catch each one in their own element - Milo turning a wheel and Kaden pushing buttons!

April 8 - This time Poppa joined us on our adventures to go to the "dinosaur museum" (aka the Museum of Nature). Things sure have changed since the last time we visited and our little nugget snoozed his way through in the bjorn!

April 10 - Back to Mississauga. I made my first attempt at driving the long journey back from Ottawa by myself with the boys. My main worry was how we were all going to pee (not wanting to put Milo on the floor of the bathroom). But we survived and the kids don't look too traumatized!

Kids salon's are too funny - April 1, 2010
Just before jetting off to Ottawa for Easter I took the boys to Kids' Kutz. No - we're not cutting Milo's hair just yet; we're going to wait and see what the curls do. However, Kaden is getting a little shaggy around the ears (hard to tell sometimes that his hair is too long as it is so fine). This time Kaden picked a train for his styling seat. For fun I put Milo up into the race car. Too cute. Then I snapped a cute shot of me and the boys in our sunny front yard (take note of the jungle around us...wait a few months to see the difference once we start yardmegeddon!)
